Leslie Kenneth Beamish passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on April 16, 2008. Les was predeceased by his wife Dorothy in 2006. He will be lovingly missed by his children: Judy (Graym) Cook of Nanaimo, Howie (Terry) Beamish of Red Deer, AB and Fay (Dan) Hickman of Victoria; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sister Louise Shewmaker of Hurst, TX, many nieces, nephews and friends, his church family of 44 years and his many friends at Lakeview Gardens where he spent his last four years.
Les dedicated his life to God, his family and was a founding member of Spruston Road Bible Camp where he served as Camp Manager for many years. After 30 years with the post office, he enjoyed activities such as lawn bowling, traveling and visiting with friends. His wit and humour will be sorely missed, as well as his kind and gentle manner.
To celebrate his life we will meet on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm in the Alliance Church, 1609 Meredith Road. Special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff for the wonderful care he received in the Palliative Care Ward at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital these past few weeks.
