MORRIS, LEONARD WILLIAM

July 11, 1940 ~ July 16, 2009

Passed away, surrounded by his family on July 16th at home.

Len was pre-deceased by his parents, Arthur & Ethel; his wife Andrea; brother Edward; and sister Irene.

He is survived by, his 2 sons: Dwayne (Julie) and Craig; 2 daughters: Monica (Bill) and Robyn (Rob); one brother: Doug (Doreen); sisters-in-law: Darcy, Dona and Stacey; 1 brother-in-law: Greg; loving partner of 14 years, Lynn Scott; 2 stepsons: Rodney & Dean and 1 stepdaughter, Kathryn; 21 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild, Dallas.; many nieces and nephews, and sadly missed by his best friend and companion, Keno.

To the other great men that he taught and worked with over the years and many friends (too many to name) “He loved you all”

Len worked for Sooke Forest Products, and then moved to Nanaimo where he was Head Filer for CIPA Lumber Co. for 31 years. After it closed down he worked for Doman’s Tahsis Div., as well as Weyerhaeuser, Island Phoenix Div. He was well known throughout North America and the world for his skills.

His love for his family, hunting, fishing, scouts, coaching ball, and boxing were all his passion.

Len touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

We would like to thank the nurses, especially, “our little angel”, Jan! Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Kaban for his compassion and the attention given to Len.

No service or flowers, by request. Donations may be made to the Nanaimo Fish & Game Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
