WHITE, Kenneth

(July 2, 1933 - April 29, 2011)

Ken "Gus" White passed away April 29, 2011 at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas, father Charles, mother Rachel, and wife Diane. Ken is survived by his daughters, Lauren (Colin), Leslie (Geoff), Allison and son-in-law Brad, and his grand-children, Brent, Kirsten, Nichola (Ryan), Kendra, Taylor, and Connor.

Ken worked at Fletchers as a sales associate for 40+ years. To this day, his "girls" still run into people who say, "Your dad sold us our first furniture!"

Ken was involved in a number of Nanaimo sports associations, including soccer, curling, and lacrosse. He was a well-known soccer player, coach, and referee in the Nanaimo community.

His gentle nature and sense of humour will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the compassionate care Ken received over the last two years from the staff at Nanaimo Travellers Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of BC or Nanaimo Travellers Lodge would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Nanaimo Golf Club on Wednesday, May 4th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"Cheers, Dad. When you get there,

raise your red card."
