KENNETH JAMES WETTEN

Wetten, Kenneth James

June 16, 1948 – April 15, 2009

Ken passed away peacefully on April 15, 2009 in N.R.G.H. after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born and raised in Cedar and worked most of his life in the forest industry. For the last 10 years he worked for Brad Filmer, with the grounds maintenance crew, at Arrowsmith Golf Course.

Ken loved the outdoors, especially his summers camping and fishing at Qualicum Bay. He had a knack with children and enjoyed planning the family reunions’ horseshoe tournaments. Among his favourite pastimes were hunting trips and playing fastball for the ‘Cranberry Arms’.

He was a member of the Nanaimo Fish & Game Club and a long time member of Branch 10 Legion.

Predeceased by his parents Vi & Tiny Wetten.

Ken is survived by his best friend and companion, Joann Dunn, sister Karen (Bill) Lecky, brother Wayne (Linda), nieces Kimberley & Stephanie, his aunts Caroline & Ose and many more relatives.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses in the Palliative Care Unit and all our friends and relatives for their caring thoughts, cards and flowers.

There will be a private family service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nanaimo Fish & Game Club or a charity of your choice.

Ken, Forever in our hearts;

Always in our thoughts
