Died peacefully July 2, 2007 after a long struggle. Born in Siedice, Poland on April 16, 1929, left his homeland at age 10 due to the German invasion of Poland, and forcibly marched through Russia, Siberia, and the Middle East. At age 13 Kaz joined the Polish Kadet Korps where he remained until he was 17 and moved to England, where he was finally reunited with his family. Kaz immigrated to Canada in 1956, settling in Montreal until 1974 when he moved to Port Alberni, where he was employed as a millwright at Somass and met and married Lillian. With the collapse of the forest industry they moved to Prince Rupert and was a respected member of the Prince Rupert Grain Elevator. Kaz and Lil retired in 1994 and settled in Cowichan Bay until their move to Nanaimo in 2003. The highlight of his life was his trip to his homeland Poland in 2006 and reuniting with his family after a 68 year absence. Pre deceased by his father Dyonizy, mother Jozefa, brother Jurek, and sisters Krystyna, Wanda, Alicia, and Lucyna. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Lil, daughter Julia (Greg), grandsons Steven and Terry, son Stefan (Marylea), grandchildren Kyra and Alexander, his extended family including Lori (Jim), Debbie (Lar), Kelly (Brett) and Norman, 18 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews in Poland, England and Eastern Canada, dear friends Bogdan, Janina, Tony and Irene and others whose lives he touched.
