Katharina Ruth Johnson
July 24, 1918 - October 26, 2017
Ruth was born in Rosthern Saskatchewan, and was predeceased by her parents John and Agatha Bartsch, her husband John Johnson, and her son in law Robert Edward Wilson (Captain Bob Sir).
Ruth and John resided in Vancouver where John built their sloop The Seanola, and together they explored the coastal waters until the early 60's, at which time they built their waterfront summer home in Porpoise Bay, on the Sunshine Coast. In 2001 Ruth sold her main home in the town Sechelt to be closer to family, and moved to Berwick on the Lake in Nanaimo, where she has been a resident until now.
Ruth spent her life as a Mother and homemaker, she leaves behind her daughter Cleone Beverly Wilson, son James John Johnson and daughter in law Juvy. Granddaughter Cynthia Lee Crumley and her husband Kerry. Grandson Jason Miles Scott and his former wife Kristy Dawn. Plus two great granddaughters, Lauren Elizabeth Crumley and Alyssa Dawn Scott.
We would like to thank all the staff at Berwick, for the tender and loving care that she has received over the years of her residency there.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
And whispered "come to me".
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away.
And though we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
We will always love and miss you Mom
