MCMINN, John Blair
Aged 85, died November 28, 2005 in Nanaimo Regional Hospital. Survived by his beloved wife Solveig and three loving children: Brenda (Alex), David (Debbie) and Martin (Mel), seven grandchildren, two great grandsons, his sister Jean Hannah and many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his daughter Marie and brother David. Blair served in WW II with both the Seaforth Highlanders and the Canadian Scots. His working career was as a lineman with BC Electric and later BC Hydro from 1947 - 1982. He was a proud member of the executive for the IBEW local 258, past Master of the Masonic Order, Abbotsford Lodge and a past Grand Patron of the Eastern Star B.C. and Yukon. A celebration of his life will be held Monday, December 5, 2005, 1:30 p.m. at the Nanaimo Golf Club 2800 Highland Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
