STAV, Jean Ambrose

Born on November 3, 1919 in Val Marie, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on June 23, 2004 in Nanaimo, BC. Jean is survived by his loving wife Jennie of 61 years, and his children; Karen (Keith) Bryan, Terry (Claudette) Stav, Carole (Gary) Granquist, Nola (Mike) Dennis, and Bernie (Lesley) Stav. Seven grandchildren Cindy (Chris) Somers, Kelly (Kelly) Bryan, Ginger Granquist, Kirk (Janel) Bryan, Jacob Stav, Dan Stav, Chantal Stav, and three great grandchildren Nick, Olivia and Nathan. Jean is also survived by five brothers Melville, Hilmer, Ken, Kerm, and Ivan, two sisters Orla and DeEtta, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jean worked as an electrical contractor in Saskatchewan for 25 years before moving to Victoria in 1970 to work for the electrical inspection branch of the BC Government for 10 years. In 1980 Jean and Jennie moved to Nanaimo where Jean worked as an electrical inspector until his retirement in 1984. Jean will be sadly missed by all of his loving family and friends. A memorial service was held for Jean on Monday, June 28, 2004 at 1:00pm, at Sands Funeral Chapel, one Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC. Following a reception at Sands Funeral Chapel an interment has taken place at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jean’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
