Born April 11, 1934 in Hillsboro County, New Brunswick, Ivan found adventure at an early age, leaving home at 15 years he worked his way across Canada to make a new life in Nanaimo, B.C. He worked most of his life as a logger, but also enjoyed planning and building as he’d always desired to be an architect. Ivan loved horses, working outside, reading, and especially walking, often walking a minimum of five miles a day where he met and befriended many people. He found great joy in sharing a good story or joke getting great pleasure in making people smile and laugh. Ivan will always be remembered, and never forgotten with love and fondness for the many wonderful memories he created for his family and friends, he always left us with a smile.
