Van Ingen, Ina

It is with great sadness and sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Fochina “Ina” Van Ingen in Nanaimo hospital, wife to John, mother of three, grandmother to eight and two great grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband John of 60 years, children Ingrid (Dave) Letourneau, Ray (Brenda) Van Ingen, Yvonne (Tim) Waldriff, grandchildren Matthew, Anya, Richard, Andrew, Erik, Ryan, Jennica, and Jordan, great grandchildren Jonas and Isaac, sisters Trinje, and Terry, brothers Harry and Klaas, and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Holland.
Ina was born in Holland on January 21, 1927 in the middle of nine brothers and sisters. She married John on October 31, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in 1951, where they both worked tirelessly and raised their children in Nanaimo.
Ina will be remembered for her many years of service with the hospital as an LPN and caregiver to many elderly shut-ins.
A tribute to her life was held on Sunday April 18, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church, 1650 Waddington Road, Nanaimo, BC. Pastor Rob Daley officiated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
