Helen died peacefully at almost 95 years of age. Firstborn, her five younger siblings including John Puhach and Ann Twaddell predeceased her. Her indomitable spirit is now at rest. Born of Ukrainian heritage in Wostok, Alberta, she lived in California and Victoria with her husband Edward who died in 1990. In 2001 she moved to Nanaimo to be close to her son and daughter-in-law, John and Marilyn. Helen is lovingly remembered for her compassion and generosity by her family including grandchildren David (Francine) in Vancouver and Erin in Victoria. Four generations had the fortune of sharing last Christmas together including her 2 month old great granddaughter, Cassia. Thank you to the staff of Berwick, Arrowsmith Lodge, and Stanford Place Care Campus for your supportive care. A Celebration of her Life will be held in late March.
