Helen Evelyn Lapadat (nee Jannack)
Helen, 93, passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Seniors Village with her loving family nearby. Predeceased by her loving husband Cornelius of 67 years, her parents, Myrtle and Robert, sisters: Lou, Edna, Dorothy and brother Cecil. Survived by daughter Shirley Sundquist (Ted), son Brian Lapadat (Christine) and twenty grand and great grandchildren.
Helen was a long time member of Saint Andrews United Church and Bowen Park Seniors for over 25 years. Neil and Helen spent many years traveling to Europe, Hawaii, USA and Canada. Their great passions were fishing, gardening, cribbage and enjoying their grandchildren. During her younger years, Helen participated in Girl Guides, PTA and the Social Credit Party Ladies Auxiliary. In her later years, she lived at Nanaimo Seniors Village enjoying crafts, music, baking and was a joy to all who knew her. A special thank you to Nanaimo Seniors Village staff for the care and love shown to Mom.
Services will be held at Sand’s Funeral Chapel, February 18th, 2009 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations on Helen’s behalf can be made to N.R.G.H. Foundation or Children’s Hospital.
