BUTTERWORTH - Harvey Bert Brown

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Harvey. He was born in Edmonton, Alberta on May 21st, 1920 and passed away on April 26, 2009 in Nanaimo, BC. Harvey was a Veteran of WWII and worked for the Canadian National Railway in Edmonton for 32 years after the war.

Harvey was predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Ted Butterworth, his second son Charles Lee, sister Marjorie McColl and brother Stuart.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Helen, son Ted (Ava), daughter Allison, grandchildren Lee and Steven, sister Jean Little, special friend Dennis McManus.

Harvey and his wife moved to Victoria in 1980 and after her retirement moved to Nanaimo in 1992. Special thank you to Dr. Pienaar, Meredith and Ceri in Palliative Care, Dustin in ICU at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and to the Paramedics of Nanaimo.

Harvey was a member of the Atlantic and BC Chiefs and Petty Officers Naval Association and the Montgomery Legion in Edmonton, AB.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday April 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local Heart and Stroke Foundation.
