Cameron, Graham
With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of Graham, a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa. Graham was born to Annie and Matthew Cameron, in Nanaimo, on November 15th 1941. On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 Graham passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife Gerry, and sister Judy, by his side after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Graham is predeceased by both parents and survived by his loving wife Gerry, son Rick (Tracy) Nelson, stepsons Kirk Tipton and Clayton Tipton, Dennis (Kristin) Kambeitz, Craig Kambeitz and sisters Anne Cameron, Judy Cameron and Heather (Garry) Betz, 6 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
His working years began early in his life at the Scotch Bakery on Commercial Street and moved on to be a waiter in the dining room on the BC Ferries. He worked on the booms and in the No.3 Wood Room at Harmac and later worked on tug boats up and down the coast of the Island. With the Harewood Improvement District he worked as a refuse collector and moved on to the Nanaimo Water District for a period of short time. Before retiring from the City of Nanaimo he held the position of the Senior Municipal Works Inspector. He then went on and formed his own inspections company called G&G Civil Works Inspections Inc., which he operated for10 years before his final retirement.
Throughout the years, Graham loved to camp and fish. Cruising was definitely on the list of things he enjoyed. But as the years rolled by he continued with his great love of reading. You could always find him with his feet up with many a good book. Graham was well known for his storying telling and humor, having a tid-bit of info he was eager to share from articles he had read.
He touched us all with love and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
