Gerry LOUTET

March 26, 2008

LOUTET, Gerry. Passed away peacefully at her daughter's home, with her family by her side on March 26, 2008. Born in North Vancouver on February 6, 1924, Gerry moved with her family to Nanaimo in 1953. Predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Stuart, on December 25, 2004, she is survived by her daughters Donna Loutet (Judy), Victoria and Valerie Aebig, Nanaimo. Beloved grandchildren Lisa (Jeff, who she affectionately called "lover boy") Weigel, Nanaimo, Sean Vogrig, Grande Prairie, AB, Ryan Vogrig, Victoria and godson Duncan Russell, Revelstoke. Also survived by brother Hap (Joan) Giampa, North Vancouver as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Gerry was an avid gardener and reader, but family and friends were foremost in her life, and her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and young nieces and nephews. She was also a lover of dogs and has gone to join Tammy and Coco. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humour, wisdom (she was always right!), "scotch mints" and gentle nature. Think of her whenever you see a hummingbird or eat a chocolate. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 1:00 pm at Branch 256 Legion, 1630 East Wellington Road. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in her memory to the Make a Wish Foundation.
