Gerardo (Gerry) Tironese

March 2nd, 1935 - February 28th, 2017

Gerardo (Gerry) Tironese born March 2nd, 1935 in Forino, Italy (Province of Avellino) left our world on February 28th, 2017 at 12:15pm. Gerry immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Cranbrook where he married and raised his family. He cherished his three sons Fred (Monica), Gino and Jerry (Shaun) and his four grandchildren Vanessa, Evan, Randy and Jessika. He is survived by his brothers Federico, Gino, sister Maria and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dad was a devoted family man who treated everyone with unconditional love. In his final days he had many calls and visitors from across Canada and Italy who reminded him how much he was loved and we thank each and everyone who had him in their thoughts and prayers.

Gerardo had many passions in life. His passion for creating beautiful gardens full of flowers, vegetables and fruits won him recognition and awards. He loved to chat with anyone who happened by while tending to his yard and shared his knowledge freely with those who asked. He loved bowling, fishing, power walking and was an avid card player. He spent many hours in his retirement years playing in card clubs and developed many wonderful friendships with the other members.

Gerardo was also a local legend in the garage-saleing world and auctions known as Mr T. He loved finding the best items, dickering for the best deals and making people laugh. He also loved holding his own garage sales and it was through this he developed a very close friendship with Angelo (Tracey), which he cherished. Gerardo will be missed by many.

We love you dad. Rest in peace.

A Fathers Goodbye

Bless my children Lord above, wrap them in Thy tender love. Keep them safe and free from harm. Until once again they’re in my arms. My sweet children I’ll miss you so. I’m sorry that I had to go. The greatest blessings I ever had was being able to be your dad. I’m now at peace, my pain is gone. I woke up to a brand new dawn. Throughout your lives in all you do. Remember forever, I’ll love you. - Ron Tranmer
