Georgina Abrahamson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and step-mother on June 2, 2010. She leaves behind her loving husband Floyd of 30 years, 3 children, Moireen (Tom), Tom, Susan (Loic), 2 stepchildren, Arlene (Roy) and Neil (Gail), 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Born April 18, 1912 in Bath, England they were booked to come to Canada on the Titanic but had to come on the next boat. She is predeceased by her first husband, Morley McQuillan in 1967. She was a lady who could never pass a nursery without coming home with a plant as the great outdoors and gardening were her passion. She enjoyed and appreciated the simple things in life. Gram always loved to go out to eat and thoroughly enjoyed when anyone cooked for her. No funeral by request. Celebration of Life to follow.
DON’T WAIT
When I quit this mortal shore
And mosey round this earth no more
Don’t weep, don’t sigh, don’t sob
I may have struck a better job
Don’t go and buy a large bouquet
For which you’ll find it hard to pay
Don’t mope around and feel all blue
I may be better off than you
Don’t tell the folks I was a saint
Or any old thing that I ain’t
If you have jam like that to spread
Please hand it on before I’m dead
If you have roses, bless your soul
Just pin one in my buttonhole
While I’m alive and well today
Don’t wait until I’ve gone away.
