George Murray REYNOLDS

Reynolds, George Murray

Born in Nanaimo, BC on June 21, 1945, passed away at home on April 8, 2005, quietly, peacefully and held lovingly by his wife Tuija. Following a seven month battle with cancer fought with courage and his typical tenacity and strength he overcame all, but his final challenge. George is predeceased in death by his parents, C. Murray Reynolds and Ann McLean Reynolds. He is survived by his loving family: wife Tuija, sister Ann Marie Hewer (Ken), nephews Kenneth (Rie) and Robert (Ayako) Hewer, niece Cheryl Hewer. Dearly missed and lovingly remembered by father and mother-in-law Oke and Sirkka Laitinen, sisters-in-law Monica Fransen, Nina Nordal (Roy), nieces; Christina Balcom (Aaron), Karrie Ann Parker (Tim), Teresa Fransen, Pauline Nordal and nephew Roy Nordal Jr. (Misty). George enjoyed a successful career in sporting goods sales on Vancouver Island by car and to remote areas along BC’s coast up to the Queen Charlotte Islands by his own float plane. He truly enjoyed his time as a flying salesman and had many interesting adventures he loved to share with family and friends, often taking us along for the ride. Especially remembered and appreciated was his great sense of humor and quick wit. George lived in a wonderful neighbourhood for the past thirty-two years, enjoying the love and comfort of his good neighbours during the past difficult seven months. Honoring George‚Äôs wishes there will be no service. Anyone so wishing may make donations in his memory to the Burn Unit of Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, BC or to the Canadian Red Cross. Thank you to family and friends who helped during this very hard time and special thanks to Dr. M. Pereira, Rosemary, community nurse Angela Robertson, neighbours Joan Loudoun, Beryl Hamilton, friends; Rhondda and Chris Sellars, Sandy and Tom LaPoint who came from Edmonton, Alberta to help and be with George during his final days.
