George passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional Hospital on October 7, 2009. He was predeceased by his father, Aubrey in 1944.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty, 96 year old mother, Laura, son, Mike (Jen) Wells, daughter Lisa (Don) Rintala, and grandchildren, Kailey and Shelby.
George was born in Belleoram, Nfld., growing up in Nova Scotia. He moved to B.C. in 1964, settling in Nanaimo in 1973. He retired as a Commercial Fisherman after 26 years, yet you would always find him working on various projects. George had a very big heart and he would give a helping hand to anyone, with a smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., St. Philips Anglican Church, 1797 Cedar Rd.
