Frederick William CAIRNS

January 5, 2006

CAIRNS, Frederick William

Passed away peacefully in his sleep January 5, 2006. He was born in Nanaimo October 1st, 1927. Predeceased by his wife, Betty Cairns (nee Scofield), he leaves to mourn, his daughters Christy Taylor (Russ), Sheila Jager (Martin), sons Donald Cairns (Tammy), Freddy Cairns, his six grandchildren, Rusty and Lynnzee Taylor, Levon and Vanessa Jager, Carlee and Drayden Cairns. He also leaves his sisters Evelyn McCulloch (Lorne), Jean Morgan, sisters-in-law Ivy Cairns, Trudy Scofield, Louise Bowater (Jerry Brooks), and many nieces, nephews, countless friends and acquaintances. He was a man of simple pleasures who was always there to lend a hand or advice to any who asked or were in need. Family and friends are aware of the importance of times spent with Fred. Whether concerning farming, 4-H, logging, hunting, fishing, or politics, he always had a pertinent story to tell, or a joke to get you through the day. Nothing pleased him more than friends dropping by for a chin-wag and a tale, or his grandchildren coming to visit. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at Cedar Community Hall on Saturday, January 14th, 2006 at 12:30 pm. Join the family and friends with stories and fond memories, as he believed life was for the living. No flowers on request, please. Donations gratefully accepted, towards a soon to be established entrance bursary, in his name, at Malaspina University College. Contact family for details.
