FRANK TAULU

August 11, 1931 ~ June 26, 2010

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Jalmer Taulu. Frank was born in South Gillies, Ontario, relocating to B.C. in 1956 with brother Vic. He met Ellen and started a family. He always loved his job on rock crushers, first with R&E Paving in Port Alberni, transferring to Nanaimo where he worked until retirement for Hub City Paving. His enjoyment playing crib brought many friends for morning coffee, and a game of crib, and then he carried on to teach grandsons, Tyler and Derrick, a good crib game. Frank was a loving, caring and compassionate father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. Predeceased by father Martti; mother, Hilma; sisters: Gertie and Norah; daughter, Francine; and granddaughter Kaylee, the "Apple of his eye," as well as the mother of his children, Ellen. He is survived by daughters: Bev (Rock), Debbie (Bob), Cindy (Raymond); grandchildren: Nikki, Tyler, Derrick (Liz), Tahnee; great grandchildren: Deon and Hayleigh; and brother and best friend Vic (Rose); sister, Helmi and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. When we think of Dad, we may shed a tear or two, then smile, savoring many happy memories. Safe journeys forever, Dad.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 17th at 1p.m. at the Ladysmith Eagles Hall, 921 1st Ave., Ladysmith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit, in memory of Frank.
