It is with sadness that we announce the death of Frances (Frankie) Mary Whittingham, nee Tinga. She was born on July 4, 1931. Frankie passed away peacefully on October 17, 2010 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William (Bill) Joseph Whittingham on July 20, 2004. She is survived by her children: Ken (Natalia), Diane (Carl), and Janice (Fernando). She was also survived by seven grandchildren: Thomas, Richard, Jay, Gage, Cole, Liza, and Christopher; many nieces and nephews; her much loved brothers and sisters and their spouses here and departed.
Frankie lived in Comox until she was married to Bill on April 17, 1954. She made her home in several communities across Canada as Bill was in the military. Eventually they settled in Nanaimo. Frankie ran a family daycare, and she was a homemaker to her family.
Frankie had many friends but what gave her the most pleasure was family camping, family reunions, and holiday gatherings. She always enjoyed a good laugh.
The family is hosting a celebration of Frankie’s life on October 30th at 1pm at 1413 Stone Lake Drive Nanoose Bay BC. All who knew Frankie are welcome.
