Faye Hanson

October 23, 2017

Faye Hanson was raised in the farming community of Vermilion in central Alberta. Faye's life came with an appreciation of nature and the simple, but precious things in life.

While raising her 3 daughters; Carrie, Trina and Marilee, Faye turned her green thumb into a profession, running a florist business and commercial greenhouses.

As an adult Faye followed her dreams and went back to college and studied Visual Communications which became the beginning of a successful career as an artist.

Since her arrival on Vancouver Island in 1989, Faye developed her own unique expressions of art through clay, fabric, porcelain and wood. She became co-owner of Art-rageous Gallery in Nanaimo, and later moved her gallery to her home in Cassidy where she flourished as a local Artisan.

After meeting her husband Wes in Nanaimo, her family grew as she became stepmom to his children Jeff and Tiffany. Faye and Wes later entered into a business partnership together, successfully running the local Sears Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Service. During this time Faye also continued on with her love of the outdoors capturing photos of the beauty that she found in nature.

Faye leaves behind so many loved ones. Her brother John Luchyk (Lorna), Husband Wes, daughters Carrie (Jonn Kerber), Trina (Ken Hollebakken) Marilee (Paul Hobbs), stepson Jeff (Samantha Freeman) and stepdaughter Tiffany Hanson.

She will sadly miss her grandchildren; Liam, Hailey, Johnathan, Stephanie, Kae and London and her great grandchildren; Harley and Akira.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to your local SAR (Search and Rescue).

The service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Nanaimo on Friday, November 3rd at 1:30 pm.
