Evelyn Josephine Le Cren passed away peacefully in her family’s embrace on Friday, June 18th at 10:00 am.

Left with wonderful memories, her devoted husband of 60 years, Hugh; her daughters Anne (Greg), Susan and Marie; grandchildren Evan, Emily (Sebastien), Cameron and Sean, and great-grandchildren Zarah, Samuel, Maelle and Eliott. She also leaves her sisters Patricia and Ruth and brothers-in-law Jack and Byron.

Lynn was born on January 8, 1917 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Mary and Stanley Errington.

Lynn was a free spirit and had a fun-filled childhood in Regina. After graduating as a registered nurse from the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital she worked in New York and Vancouver before serving as a lieutenant nursing sister in the Canadian Army overseas. After the war, Lynn worked at Shaunessy military Hospital in Vancouver.

In 1950 she married Hugh Le Cren and they settled in Nanaimo. Over the next few years their three daughters were born and Lynn devoted herself to raising them. Lynn enjoyed her many excursions with Hugh, especially their holidays to the United Kingdom, California and the Rockies. Lynn was an avid reader, enjoyed flowers, swimming, walks along the beach, had a passionate love of music and filled the house with her singing.

Although she will be sadly missed, we are grateful for the many years we had with this wonderful woman.

The family invites family and friends to the Kin Hut at Departure Bay Beach, on June 29th at 2:00 p.m. to share memories of Lynn.
