Eric Garth TISSINGTON

Tissington, Eric Garth, born October 25th, 1934 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, died September 21, 2002 at the age of 67 years in the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents: Joseph and Frances Nora (Grainger) Tissington who were pioneers in the Five Mile Creek District, East of Grande Prairie, also by sister Colleen Irons and brother Joseph Ross Tissington. He is survived by his loving wife Lorna Joan (Roach) Tissing ton, his children; Janice Colleen (Tissington) Walker and her husband Michael of Nanaimo, B.C. Margot Lynn Tissing ton and her husband David Loyst of Vancouver, B.C., son Garth Stephen Tissington of Victoria, B.C., grandchildren; Dar by Meagan Walker, Nora Frances Loyst, Benjamin Stewart Loyst, one sister Elizabeth (Bette) Mary Wilson of Vernon, B.C., one brother Frank Malcolm Tissington and his wife Arlie of Sidney, B.C. brother-in-law Dr. William Irons and sister-in-law Norma Tissington of Kelowna, B.C. and Dr. Margot Ruth Roach of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia and numerous nieces and nephews. Eric moved to Parksville in 1977 and Nanaimo in 1981. He will be long remembered by all his family and many friends and especially among the badminton community through his life long dei cation to the sport, other interests included woodworking and golf.
