RANSOME, Elizabeth (Betty) Jane
1923 - 2008
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our mother on August 31, 2008.
Betty Ransome was born in Windsor Ontario on August 2nd 1923. Betty grew up in Amherstburg Ontario and married Wilson Ross Ransome in 1952. They were together for 54 years. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Ransome and her son Charles Russell (Rusty) Ransome. Betty is survived by daughter Robin (Ray) Smith and sons Jonathon, Kevin (Sarah), Douglas (Lisa) and many grandchildren.
Bill and Betty lived in Sointula for 5 years and then moved to Ladysmith where they had many happy years and many friends. They delivered Meals on Wheels for as long as they were able and Betty was a long time member of Cedila Quilters. Betty was passionate about family, old books, gardening, cooking, Christmas and quilting. She was the cornerstone of our family and is greatly missed! Special thanks to her caregivers Carlota, Sheila, Joan, Lucille, and Cris who made her and Bill's last years at home comfortable and happy.
Service will be held at Cedar United Church on September 28th at 3 pm. Refreshments to follow.
