Dr. George Albert (Al) Perkins
May 19, 1926 – April 19, 2010
Al Perkins passed away peacefully early in the morning April 19, 2010 after a brave but short battle with cancer. He is survived by his four children: John (Susan), Gordon (Doreen), Donald, and Mary Anne (Ceis); four grandchildren: Britta, Donald, Genevieve and Julianna, and one great grandchild Kaylen.
Al was born in Prince Rupert and grew up in Port Essington and Victoria. He was a war veteran, a carpenter, a diesel mechanic, and in 1959 became a dentist and settled in Nanaimo where he lovingly and unwaveringly served the community in his 30 year practice at the Caledonian clinic.
Al was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He will be truly missed. Blessings and peace be with you.
Those who wish to pay their respects are welcome to visit Telfords Funeral Home, 595 Townsite Rd. on Friday April 23rd at 1pm.
If so desired, donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army, in lieu of flowers, are appreciated
