Davenport, Douglas
Born February 17, 1925 St. John’s, Newfoundland, passed away January 4, 2010 Nanaimo, B.C.
Predeceased by son Peter, left to mourn greatly are his devoted wife of 38 years, Louise; sons: Barry, Steve, Mike; step son, David Merrin; grandchildren; Dylan and Aaron Davenport, Alysha and Shaina Merrin; great granddaughter, Rose Davenport, and friends too numerous to list.
Doug will be remembered for his passion of the sea, proud to have worked on the merchant marine, water taxis, and towboats, and fisheries research vessels. He also spent his free time sailing (especially on Mystic, cheer in hand).
No service by request, friends are invited to a Celebration of Life “party” at Louise’s on Saturday, January 30th, 2pm - 8 pm.
