LITTLE, Dorothy Anne
1947 - 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Sister and Friend, Dorothy, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer on May 1, 2007.
Dorothy was born in Scotland on January 20th, 1947. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friend Marie Doiron of Nanaimo, daughters: Deanna (Bryce Blake) and Christine (Derek Chipman), her pride and joy, granddaughter Jayden Blake of Port Alberni, brother Bill Johnson of Vancouver, and sister Moira (Robert L’Huillier), niece, Pamela (Kevin MacAdam) of Parksville.
Predeceased by parents William (Bill) and Pearl (Jean) Johnson of Port Alberni.
Dorothy was a commanding officer in the Wrenettes in Port Alberni and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #55. She worked for many years in both Port Alberni & Nanaimo Hospitals.
Dorothy loved working on computers and devoted many hours of her time assisting friends and family. She always had time for the people in her life and she was quick to share her friendly smile, and a word of cheer, to all she met.
A special thank you to all who assisted in the care of Dorothy during her illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Yates Funeral Chapel, corner of Southgate and Gertrude in Port Alberni, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
