Diane Elizabeth Young passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 14, 2017 from CJD. This disease afflicts one in a million, and Diane definitely was “one in a million.”

Diane was born in Kamloops on July 10, 1941, graduated from high school there and continued to get her teaching degree from UBC. Although Diane taught in several districts, she spent the bulk of her time teaching grade one in Nanaimo until she retired almost twenty-six years ago.

Diane spent her retirement years travelling the world with her beloved husband of 55 years, Bob. When she wasn’t traveling, she spent her time playing bridge, playing golf, walking and exercising, entertaining and spending time with her many, many friends.

Diane’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to go to Vancouver and spend time with her son, Robert and his wife, Kristi, and their children, Riley, Cole and Kate. She also spent a lot of time in Nanoose Bay with her daughter, Tricia, her son-in-law Graham, and their children, Alex and Ben.

Diane will be greatly missed by all. At her request, there will be a family-only service.
