DARYL ALLEN MCDONALD

February 5, 2009

McDonald, Daryl Allen

Daryl passed away unexpectedly at home on February 5, 2009 at the age of 61 years. Daryl was predeceased by his son Shane in 1992, Grandmother Elizabeth in 1993 and Mother Jean in 2008.

Daryl will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 39 years, Gail, his children Kandi McDonald (Manh) and Dail McDonald, and his adoring grandchildren Allen, Makaila, and Hailey McDonald and Marcus Nguyen. Daryl is also survived by his brother Blaine Perrin and sisters Wendy Perrin and Georgene Mckenzie, uncles Bill and Jim (Pat) McDonald and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Daryl was born and raised in Nanaimo and lived “Fallside” his entire life where he enjoyed his family, many pets, projects and hobbies. Daryl enjoyed the outdoors and while raising his children spent many weekends with them camping and fishing all over Vancouver Island.

Daryl spent his early adult years working in the forest industry and worked in logging camps on Vancouver Island and the coast of British Columbia, he also spent a number of years working for the Nanaimo School District as a bus driver and spent the past 11 years assisting his wife Gail as a rural service mail carrier for Canada Post.

Daryl will be most remembered and admired for the way he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His sense of humor and quiet charm will be greatly missed.

The McDonald family would like to thank Dr. W. Colborne for all of his kindness, compassion and exceptional care he provided to Daryl and the entire family. Words cannot express our gratitude!

A celebration of life will be held in March.
