Kobe, Daniel Mathew
born February 14, 1929 in Vancouver, BC passed away after a brief illness on January 4, 2005. Predeceased by his parents John and Francis and his wife Edna. Dan is survived by his children; Grant (Laura), Kim (Bill) and John; grandchildren Amanda, Stephen, Brooke, Sarah, Jordan and Samuel; sister Bette and mother-in-law Ellen Riel. Dan grew up in “the Five Acres” on the family farm, developing an early passion for tinkering which eventually turned into a career as a mechanic for the B.C. Telephone Company. Upon retirement, he continued tinkering with his antique cars and made many special friends through his membership in the Nanaimo Chapter of the Vintage Car Club of Canada. Dan also had a love of sports, both playing and watching. Among them was soccer, which he played into his seventies. Dan will be remembered for his gentle and giving nature, always ready to give a hand. A special thank you to all the health care professionals that may have looked after him, especially Dr. Ron Dorsey, the home care nurses.
