Cole will be missed by his girlfriend Sara, his best buds, and by all of his family and friends. Cole was loved for his loyal, kindhearted nature, his quick wit and his ability to always make other laugh and smile.

Cole was born in Nanaimo on September 16, 1985, the third son to Brenda and Jim Shaw. Cole graduated Cedar Secondary School in 2003. After high school Cole completed the pulp & paper program at VIU, then went on to work at the Port Alice mill. While there, he earned his 4th Class Power Engineer certificate from BCIT. Cole's latest job at the Duke Point Canexus chemical plant brought him back to Nanaimo.

In his younger years Cole found a love for fastball. From the age of five he was involved with Nanaimo Minor Fastball. Cole played in many provincial championships and with the help of some old friends a few gold medals were won. A highlight was a Western Canadian Championship appearance and a berth to the Canadian Nationals in Toronto. Cole ended his ball career this past season with the Wheatsheaf Men's Fastball club.

Special memories include vacationing with family or friends in Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. Cole had a passion for Rock (Tragically Hip) and Country music. He loved live concerts. Cole was also an avid fan of the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Blue Jays attending many games in person. Dirt bike riding was another pastime.

Most often though, Cole enjoyed gathering socially with friends and family. If you were lucky, you were invited to one of his dinner parties or blessed to have him cook at your house.

Cole lived life to the fullest and brought so much joy to all of our hearts. His larger than life personality will stay with us always.

Love you forever

Cole's celebration of Life will be held November 12th, at Beban Park Auditorium from 1:00-4:00 pm

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Coles name to BC Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
