COWLEY, Clara Margaret
August 7, 1926 – November 5, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear mother. She passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo General Hospital and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Thomas Arthur Cowley, her son, David Thomas Cowley, and her two grandchildren Jason Hurd and Baby Grace Cowley.
Mom will be remembered with great love and affection for her unconditional love and support, her caring kind ways and her generous spirit. She will be deeply missed by sons, Phil (Ruth) and Malcolm (Tammy), daughters Lorraine (Morris), Janice (Barry), Brenda (Don), and Marion (Frank), 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister in Edmonton, Rose Green and her family.
Family meant everything to Mom, and we all have wonderful memories of big holiday gatherings which she and Dad loved to host. She was an excellent cook, and her homemade pies were unbeatable.
Special thanks to Dr. Ehman and Dr. Silva for their dedication and unwavering care. The family would also like to acknowledge the care and attention that Mom received while living at Lakeside Gardens. She was an avid cribbage and canasta player and enjoyed the company of many of the residents at Lakeside.
In lieu of flowers, Mom had kindly requested that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 12, at 12:30 pm, Evangelistic Tabernacle, 1300 Princess Royal Avenue, Nanaimo, BC. Reception to follow. Private interment in the Ladysmith Cemetery.
