Bryan Norman Erb

August 22, 1936 - December 22, 2008

Bryan Norman Erb passed away, peacefully, in Qualicum BC, with his wife and family members at his side. He leaves his wife of 54 years - Barbara, sons – Chris (Marianne), Dale (Teresa), grandchildren – Nick, Jennifer (Jared) and Jessica,

brother – Ernie (Betty),niece - Sue (Jim ), nephews – Steve (Debbie) and Allan (Kathi) and many cousins and great nieces and nephews. The son of Ernie Erb Sr and Margaret Erb, both deceased, Bryan was in the family line of Erbs who emigrated from Germany in the late 1700s, settling first in New Brunswick and in the 1800s, worked their way west to Victoria, where Bryan was born and raised. Bryan had a long and successful career with BC Tel in Victoria. Retiring in 1993 Bryan and Barbara moved to Qualicum and spent 15 years as Snowbirds in Palm Springs. Bryan believed in helping others, particularly children and accomplished this as an active member of the Gizeh Shriners of BC: Victoria and Parksville/Qualicum. As well, he was a past master of the Masonic Temple in Victoria. As a young man Bryan played in the commercial hockey league. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed curling, walking, gardening and cooking. His family and close friends meant the world to him. His strong sense of independence and strength will live on through his children and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Thank you to the doctors and staff at the Nanaimo General Hospital and the Eagle Park Care Facility, and Hospice volunteers. In lieu of flowers, please give in memory to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Nanaimo or Qualicum Hospice.
