BAMFORD, BRIAN

Brian passed away peacefully on October, 22, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his father, John and mother, Christina (Tina) and lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynda and children: Jason and Kara (Kent). He leaves behind his grandchildren: Lauren and Kyle; his mother-in-law, Jean Houston; brother-in-law Craig Houston (Judy); sister-in-law Maureen Chaddock (Ken) and his brother, Gordon (Brenda) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brian was born in Nanaimo on May 24, 1946 and worked for over twenty-six years as a school teacher in Nanaimo. He was a sports enthusiast and was involved both as a player and a coach in Nanaimo Lacrosse and Soccer. He coached numerous school sports teams (Woodbank, Pleasant Valley and Forest Park). He loved music (Elvis Presley), fishing and gardening on his oceanfront property.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and home supoort staff for their kindness and care of Brian.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
