ROWLAND, Blanche Marie, age 91, born in Vancouver, December 21, 1912 passed away June 21, 2004. Predeceased by her husband Larry in 1988. Blanche will be lovingly missed by her brother Alfred Franks and her three children Gary (Marj), Sherry (Gary Long), Brent (Marilyn), six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and many relatives and countless friends. Blanche spent her childhood in Vancouver. Most of her adult life was on Vancouver Island at Cowichan Lake, Port Renfrew and Nanaimo. She greatly enjoyed the companionship of the Bowen Senior Songsters and loved meeting new people and making new friends right up to the end. Her strong Christian faith helped her face many obstacles. Her family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the staff and employees of Malaspina Gardens for their exceptional care and friendship. A celebration of Blanche’s life will be held at the Bowen Park Complex on Friday, June 25th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, her favorite charity was CARE Canada.
