Betty GORCAK

Gorcak, Betty, born November 20, 1919, in London, England, long time beloved member of this community passed away peacefully October 12th in the family home of her daughter, Kim Botting. As an infant she moved to Edinburgh, Scotland. Having grown up there and serving in World War II in the land army, Betty immigrated to Canada in 1954 with her twin sister Pam. They both met and married within six weeks in Victoria, B.C. and soon settled in Tofino. Betty is survived by her loving family; eldest son Paul, Brian, daughter Kim and son-in-law Gordon, five special grandchildren; Nathan, Devin, Brett, Nicole and Riley (Botting). Her nieces June Sloman and Gail Hellesen. Her sister June and her daughters Kay Prosser and Jane Brown. Betty will be sorely missed by all who knew her. “God bless you, Betty. Rest in Peace.” A memorial service will be held November 2nd at 2pm in the Tofino Legion. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made at the District Office in Tofino for a Park Bench, the rest will be donated to the Tofino Hospital. A special thanks to the Tofino Ambulance crew and Tofino Hospital staff, and especially Scott Gibson.
