ARTHUR MELVIN ENGER

July 4, 2009

ENGER, ARTHUR MELVIN

FEBRUARY 18, 1921 ~ JULY 4, 2009

Art left us Saturday to be with his beloved wife Marion. He leaves to mourn his one brother, Gerry (Jean); two sisters: Vivian (Tony); Diane (Don) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A WWII Veteran with the Calgary Highlanders, he was involved in the D Day landings in France and the liberation of Holland.

He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #10 in Nanaimo and will long be remembered for his quick wit, independent nature and his love of animals.

Art was employed for many years by the railways and developed an interest in model trains which became a life long hobby – in the last few years computers also became a large part of his life.

A celebration of Art’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 129 Harewood, Nanaimo on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Nanaimo SPCA would be appreciated.

“Rest in peace Art, you will never be forgotten.”
