GRIFFITHS, ALFRED JOSEPH

Griffiths Alfred Joseph passed away peacefully on October 30, 2008, at Nanaimo’s Dufferin Place. Alfred was born to John and Eliza on April 23, 1922 in Nanaimo. Alfred lived all his life in Nanaimo, BC. He was predeceased, by his son Robert (Bob) Stanley, 1977; his wife Elizabeth Gladys 1988 and his brother Stanley in 1986.
He leaves to mourn his only daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Campbell (Ron), grandchildren Valerie Ann King (Perry), Vickie Elizabeth Jean McInyk (Bob), great grandchildren Michelle, Matthew, Amanda King, Sarah, Austin and Samantha Melnyk, all of Quesnel, BC and his companion and friend Sheila Clark, of Nanaimo, BC.
Alf and Gladys had a long career in business establishing Alf Griffiths Developments Ltd. Alf was employed for many years for S. Madill Ltd.
Alf and Gladys spent many hours boating and camping with friends at Big Qualicum campsite. They took many cruises and holidaying in Hawaii their favorite vacation spot. Alf was involved in many charities and a member of Branch 10 Legion.
No flowers by request. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank Dr. Baird, the staff at Nanaimo Regional Hospital and at Dufferin Place for their kind and gentle care of Alf.
Funeral services were held at First Memorial Funeral Services located at 1720 Bowen Road on Tuesday, Nov. 4th, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. Interment was made in the family plot in the Nanaimo Cemetery on Bowen Road.
