Docherty, Aileen Barbara passed away suddenly October 3, 2003 in Nanaimo. Predeceased by her loving husband Jack, April 4, 1996. Survived by her 3 children; Sharon (Don) of Kamloops, Al (Kathie) Nanaimo, Patrick Joseph of Nanaimo. Also survived by her two sisters; Lil and Doe of Toronto. Aileen will be deeply missed by her grandson’s she loved dearly and was very proud of; Matthew, Alex, Jason and Rylee Docherty. Aileen was born Dec. 6, 1923 in Toronto. Growing up in Toronto produced some very memorable and funny stories. She moved to Nanaimo with her husband Jack and daughter Sharon in 1957. Aileen was a devoted long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 10. She held numerous positions, such as President. She enjoyed her duties and time spent with her friends at Branch 10. Aileen also involved herself with volunteering for Heart/Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society and Kidney Society. Aileen was a very active woman up until her passing. She enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. Aileen was a walker with the “Woodgrove Walkers” and truly loved her time walking around the mall. She will be truly, deeply, sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Service will be held on October 10, 2003 at 1:00 at Mt. Benson Funeral Home. 125 Wallace Street, Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Aileen would be appreciated.
