We are extremely sad to announce the death of Glen Adair Gislason. Adair died peacefully after a long fight with Huntington disease. He died on his own terms surrounded by family and friends on June 14, 2017 in Nanaimo B.C.

Adair was born on November 11th, 1953 in Wynyard Saskatchewan to Joyce and Kenneth Gislason. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Lynn-Dale Richards and brothers Vaughn and Lyall Gislason. He is survived by his daughter Diana McKinnon and grand-daughter Wilder McKinnon. Adair will be forever remembered by sister Thoren, brother in- law Richard Young and nieces Dana, Kristjana and Jodi Young. Adair also leaves behind his niece Erin Fitzgerald and nephews Devin and Matthew Richards and brother-in-law Eldred Richards. Adair will be greatly missed by his loving companion Barbara Ranostay.

Adair was one of the first students to attend Malaspina College and later became a well known and highly respected electrical contractor on Vancouver Island. He first worked in Port Alberni with Ken’s Electric and later formed his own company Harbour City Electric.

Adair was a beautiful, brilliant, rebellious, mischievous, hilarious, deeply sensitive, musically gifted, hard working, animal lover, dirt bike dare devil and someone who was always the life of the party.

A celebration of Adair’s life will be held at the Nanaimo Golf Club - 2800 Highland Blvd. - from 2 to 6 pm on what would have been his 64th birthday

– November 11th 2017.

In lieu of flowers a donation to one of the causes Adair supported would be greatly appreciated: The Huntington Society of Canada, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the S.P.C.A.
