BLAKE, Ada Amelia
born in Chatham, Kent England June 22, 1925, passed away at Malaspina Gardens March 1, 2004 age 78 years. Ada and her husband Wilf served in the British Navy in WW2 after which they emigrated to Canada in 1949 with their infant daughter Rita taking up residence in Ladysmith. She and Wilf moved to Nanaimo in 1972 where they were very active in Branch 10, R.C.L. After Wilf’s passing in 1978 she was active with the Nanaimo Stroke Club and enjoyed her many walks around Buttertubs Marsh. she is survived by her daughter Rita (Larry) Mayovsky, Son Tom Blake; Grandchildren Mark (Christine) Mayovsky; Tara (Dwayne) Rathwell; Cory and Candice; also 2 great-grandchildren Jacob and Gage. A remembrance Tea will be held Sunday March 7, 2004 from 1:00 to 4:00PM at Rita and Larry Mayovskys, 3159 Smugglers Hill, Nanaimo, BC. In lieu of flowers donations in Ada’s memory to the Salvation Army appreciated.
