Two injured in head-on collision in north Nanaimo

Two drivers hurt when cars collide on Hammond Bay Road

The drivers of both vehicles were injured and both cars were towed from the scene after a head-on collision in north Nanaimo Tuesday.

The crash happened between a white Oldsmobile sedan and a black Toyota Yaris just before 2 p.m. near the Parkway Drive and Hammond Bay Road intersection.

The driver of the Oldsmobile was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Toyota was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew.

A one-block section of Hammond Bay Road was closed until the vehicles could be cleared from the roadway.

Police are investigating.
