None of Nanaimo’s 13 byelection candidates have bowed out of the race.

Chief election officer Sheila Gurrie confirmed no candidate withdrew from the byelection as of Friday’s deadline. Neither was any candidate missing information, another way they could have been considered withdrawn.

The city has ordered the ballots voters will cast July 8. Advanced voting is June 28 and July 5.The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce will host an all-candidates meeting and debate at Beban Park social centre June 27, beginning at 6 p.m.

Advanced registration has closed but Gurrie said if people are not on the city’s voters list, they can register the day of voting.
