A suspected bicycle thief stole a helmet, too, to make a safe getaway earlier this month.

According to a Crime Stoppers unsolved crimes report from this week, a bike was stolen Aug. 7 at about 3:20 p.m. at Rotary Bowl stadium.

The bike’s owner left his bike and his blue helmet leaning against a fence, but not chained up, while he ran the track.

He later saw a male suspect wearing the blue hemet riding away from the track.

The suspect was described as white and chubby with with short blonde hair and was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts at the time of the incident. The bike is a new silver Supercycle.

Another bike theft was reported Aug. 9. A bicycle was stolen from outside McDonald’s restaurant on Princess Royal Avenue. That bike is a bright yellow 21-speed Norco Sasquatch with serial No. SF00744219.
