A man exposed himself to a mother and her young daughter while they were out walking at Colliery Dam Park.

Nanaimo RCMP are investigating the incident, which occurred Monday at about 2:30 p.m.

Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said in a press release that the suspect, after exposing himself, confronted the mother and daughter.

“He uttered some vulgarities, then threatened to throw them in the river,” O’Brien said. “The suspect then ran into nearby bushes and was not seen again.”

The incident was reported immediately and police attended, but were unable to find the suspect, described as a 35-45 years old, possibly Asian or First Nations, and approximately 5-foot-5 with a thin build. He was wearing a red hoodie and baggy hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com or via text at 274637, keyword ‘Nanaimo.’
