Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the owner of a safe.

The safe was found unopened Jan. 6 by a passerby who spotted it in some bushes off of Fourth Street in Harewood.

The safe was in good condition and when opened, the only contents in it were several special occasion cards.

“We are hoping the cards may assist in determining who owns the safe and where it came from. To date no one has come forward to claim it and we do not have any files involving safes being stolen,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman.

If anyone with information about who owns the safe, please call Const. Tim Bedard at 250-754-2345.

To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com, text 274637 with keyword Nanaimo, or call 1-800-222-8477.
