Nanaimo and District B.C. SPCA is holding a 50 per cent off adoption promotion, after being inundated with cats from Victoria.

Victoria SPCA saw 56 cats surrendered recently and the Nanaimo branch has taken on some of Victoria’s other adoptable cats.

According to a Facebook post, the Nanaimo branch is at capacity and will offer the promotion this week in order to create space for other cats that are in need.

Leon Davis, Nanaimo B.C. SPCA branch manager, estimates there are 40 cats currently, and the promotion will likely last until Sunday.

“We may even extend it if we need to. We’re pretty full,” said Davis. “So on Sunday we’ll probably look at it and we may extend it for another week.”

For more information, call the Nanaimo and District B.C. SPCA at 250-741-0778.
