Killer whale boat stolen from Wal-Mart parking lot

A boat painted like a killer whale won’t be launched at Nanaimo lakes, as planned.

The hand-made fibreglass boat was stolen out of the back of a pickup truck earlier this month, according to an unsolved crimes report released today by Nanaimo RCMP. The theft occurred in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Aug. 16, sometime between 8:30-11:30 a.m.

The boat weighs approximately 250 pounds and is dark green with paint resembling an orca. There was no motor attached.

According to a submission to the News Bulletin’s Beefs & Bouquets page, the boat was to be used for fishing at Nanaimo lakes.
